Verizon initiated daily twitter conversations encouraging fans to break down the game’s best matchups…which team will dominate the passing game, own the running game and of course win Super Bowl XLVIII? To determine the winner each night, an algorithm tracked the twitter conversations associated with #WhosGonnaWin. Verizon turned the fans’ predictions into a spectacular light show on the most recognized building in New York City.
In just one week, more than 475K tweets included mentions of #WhosGonnaWin. The program generated 157.5M earned media impressions and proved to be the most successful live Twitter battle in ESPN’s history.
